Govind Gatte ki Sabzi - Balika Vadhu Special

I heard of Govind Gatte ki Sabzi from the serial Balika Vadhu that is being broadcasted from one of the Indian Channel. This is a serial based in the back drop of rural Rajasthan and the cuisine the ladies of the serial talk of, at times, are typical of Rajasthan.

The name "Govind Gatte ki Sabzi" seemed something royal and was alluring.

So, I thought of giving it a try. Looked for recipes over internet, and as I always do, took idea from many and designed my own recipe. I made two major changes in it.

The Gatte are supposed to be steam cooked, which appeared to me bit tough. So, I sort of baked it on slow heat.

I added ajwain to the the recipe, which was no where proposed in any recipe. I did this to make it Balika Vadhu special. From that serial I had learnt that, ajwain was the secret of the taste of the recipe :)

So, here we go, with the recipe of my Balika Vadhu special Govind Gatte ki Sabzi.

Ingredients:

gram flour --> add azwain, crushed coriander seed, fennel seed, garam masala, chilli powder, coriander powder, raisin, cashew nuts, salt. --> add water and make pakodas...

dahi --> add garam masala, chilli powder, haldi, salt

add oil to hot pan--> splutter cumin and add ginger more and garlic less. ---> add the prepared dahi --> bring to boil and then add the pakodas..
